FTsystems, established in Shanghai in April 2009, specializes in designing and manufacturing customized heating and cooling systems for the pharmaceutical industry. The company set up its manufacturing site in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, and has become a leader in providing precise temperature control solutions for chemical reactors, ensuring optimal productivity in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). FTsystems was the first company in China to master core reactor cascade control technology and successfully implement it in Temperature Control Units (TCUs) for real-world projects. Their systems offer high stability (± 0.5° C to 2° C) and can deliver heating capacities of up to 600 kW and cooling capacities of up to 300 kW, operating within a wide temperature range of -120° C to 350° C. With its expertise, FTsystems is rapidly emerging as a competitive alternative to high-cost imported European products.
The company has developed unique software and algorithms for its TCUs, focusing on refrigeration systems to achieve fast cooling and exceptional temperature stability. Leveraging know-how from international experts, FTsystems launched the **Biochill** brand, offering standardized dynamic heating and cooling units (Dynastat) and high-end chillers with smart refrigeration systems. These products are designed to meet the demanding requirements of industries such as bioreactors, mixers, and testing rigs in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. Biochill′s standard units cover a temperature range of -90° C to 320° C, with cooling capacities of up to 25 kW.
FTsystems aims to replace expensive imported temperature control units with its high-precision, dynamic heating, and cooling solutions, catering to industries ranging from biopharma and synthetic biology (Synbio) to semiconductor testing and process equipment. All products are manufactured in-house at the Jiangsu factory, where they undergo rigorous testing according to DIN12876, EN378, and other international standards to meet the high expectations of overseas customers. For larger custom systems, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) are conducted with or without customer involvement. Standard units are built to factory specifications and DIN12876 standards, ensuring performance aligns with official catalog claims.
Looking ahead, FTsystems plans to continue investing in R&D, particularly in the use of natural refrigerants with lower Global Warming Potential (GWP), to reduce the carbon footprint of its products. The company is committed to supporting its customers in achieving their carbon neutrality goals by providing environmentally friendly and energy-efficient temperature control solutions.
